Source Code (2011)
Source Code (2011) is a sci-fi thriller that follows Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal), a soldier who wakes up on a commuter train in the body of another man. He soon learns he is part of a government program called “Source Code,” which allows him to relive the last eight minutes of a personβs life in a parallel reality. His mission is to identify the bomber responsible for a deadly explosion that destroyed the train and threatens to strike again.
Guided by Captain Goodwin (Vera Farmiga) and Dr. Rutledge (Jeffrey Wright), Colter repeatedly re-enters the train scenario, gathering clues and trying to prevent the disaster. As he grows closer to a fellow passenger, Christina (Michelle Monaghan), he becomes determined to change the outcome and save everyone, despite being told that the past cannot be altered. The film explores themes of fate, identity, and sacrifice, as Colter grapples with his mission and the moral implications of the Source Code technology.
