Gods of Egypt (2016)

Gods of Egypt (2016) is a visually ambitious fantasy-adventure film directed by Alex Proyas. It draws inspiration from Egyptian mythology and features a star-studded cast, including Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, and Geoffrey Rush. The film offers a high-concept blend of mythology, action, and lavish CGI-driven spectacle.
Set in a fantastical version of ancient Egypt where gods live among mortals, the story follows Bek (Brenton Thwaites), a mortal thief, who partners with the god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) to reclaim the throne from the usurper Set (Gerard Butler). Set has plunged the kingdom into chaos, enslaving humanity and blinding Horus in a brutal coup.
Together, Bek and Horus embark on a perilous journey across mystical realms to retrieve Horus’s lost powers and defeat Set. Along the way, they encounter various gods and mythical creatures, unraveling secrets about loyalty, redemption, and the balance between humans and gods.
