Star Trek 4: New Horizon (2025): Boldly Going Where No Film Has Gone Before

The Star Trek franchise returns to the big screen with Star Trek 4: New Horizon, an ambitious continuation of the Kelvin timeline that brings new challenges, deeper character arcs, and an exploration of the unknown. Directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision), this highly anticipated sequel reunites the beloved cast while introducing new faces and a compelling adventure that promises to captivate both hardcore Trekkies and new audiences.
Set several years after the events of Star Trek Beyond (2016), the crew of the USS Enterprise, led by Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), embarks on a new five-year mission to chart unexplored regions of the galaxy. This mission, however, takes a perilous turn when they encounter a mysterious cosmic anomaly known as “The Nexus Rift,” a phenomenon that defies all known laws of physics and creates fractures in time and space.
As the Enterprise investigates, they are thrust into a conflict with a rogue federation ship, the USS Valiant, captained by Gabriel Taros (played by Oscar Isaac), a former Starfleet officer turned vigilante who has his own agenda for exploiting the Nexus Rift. Amid growing tensions, Kirk must make impossible decisions to preserve the balance of the universe while grappling with personal revelations tied to his father, George Kirk (Chris Hemsworth), who appears through the temporal distortions caused by the Nexus.
With Spock (Zachary Quinto), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Bones (Karl Urban), and Scotty (Simon Pegg) by his side, the crew faces not only physical threats but also the philosophical dilemmas that define Star Trekโ€”all while navigating the fragile alliances that hold the galaxy together.
