Oblivion (2013)

Oblivion (2013) is a post-apocalyptic science fiction film directed by Joseph Kosinski, based on a story by Kosinski and written by William Monahan. The film stars Tom Cruise, Andrea Riseborough, Olga Kurylenko, and Morgan Freeman. It’s known for its visually stunning landscapes, philosophical themes, and intricate plot twists.
Set in the year 2077, Oblivion takes place after a catastrophic war with alien invaders, which left Earth largely abandoned. The planet’s surface is now mostly uninhabitable, and the human race has relocated to Titan, one of Saturn’s moons. Tom Cruise plays Jack Harper, a drone technician who is tasked with maintaining and repairing autonomous drones that are guarding the planet’s remaining resources. He works with his partner, Victoria (Andrea Riseborough), who oversees the operation from a high-tech base.
As Jack investigates mysterious occurrences and unexplained phenomena, he begins to question his mission and his own memories. His perception of reality begins to unravel when he encounters a woman (Olga Kurylenko) who appears to know him from the past, leading to a series of revelations that challenge everything he thought he knew about his world, his purpose, and the war that devastated Earth.
Jack’s journey eventually leads him to confront the truth behind humanity’s struggle for survival and the true nature of the alien conflict. The story is full of twists that explore themes of identity, memory, and the consequences of human hubris.
