Premise
The series begins with the near-destruction of humanity at the hands of the Cylons, a race of intelligent robots originally created by humans. After a surprise nuclear attack on the Twelve Colonies, only a small group of human survivors escape aboard a fleet of ships led by the Battlestar Galactica, a military spacecraft under the command of Commander William Adama (Edward James Olmos).
The fleet, accompanied by President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell), embarks on a desperate quest to find the fabled Thirteenth Colony: Earth. However, the journey is fraught with danger as the Cylons relentlessly pursue the fleet, and tensions rise among the survivors.
The series begins with a devastating attack by the Cylons, a race of sentient robots created by humanity. After decades of dormancy, the Cylons return to annihilate their creators, decimating the Twelve Colonies of Kobol and leaving only a small fleet of survivors. President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) and Adama lead the fleet as they search for the fabled 13th colony—Earth. Along the way, they must navigate political intrigue, dwindling resources, and a relentless Cylon pursuit. The story becomes even more complex as Cylons reveal their human-like models, infiltrating the fleet and forcing humanity to confront questions of identity, loyalty, and redemption.
