Elon Musk Moves Tesla Headquarters to Texas
Elon Musk has officially moved Tesla’s headquarters to Texas after months of dissatisfaction with California’s regulatory environment, particularly in response to the strict measures imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2020, during a Tesla earnings call, Musk criticized the state’s anti-COVID measures, calling them “fascist” and expressing frustration with the temporary shutdown of the Fremont factory. A month later, he even threatened to leave California, stating, “If anyone wants to stay at home, they should have that right. But to say you can’t leave your house? That’s fascist.”
Musk’s decision to relocate Tesla to Texas marks a significant shift in both his personal and professional stance, with Texas offering a more business-friendly environment, particularly when it comes to regulation and tax incentives.
