The Revenant 2 (2025)

Spoiler Warning! The Revenant 2 picks up years after Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) survived his brutal ordeal in the wilderness.
Now a hardened trapper, Glass is drawn into a new conflict when a ruthless fur empire, led by the vengeful Mads Mikkelsen (playing Anders Vanek, the brother of Tom Hardyβs character from the first film), begins slaughtering Native tribes to expand their territory. After Glass interferes, Vanekβs men ambush him, leaving him for dead in the frozen wildernessβagain.

Barely alive, Glass is found by a grieving Lakota warrior, Takoda (Zahn McClarnon), who lost his family to Vanekβs mercenaries. The two form an uneasy alliance, tracking Vanekβs caravan to a remote fort where corrupt soldiers trade in stolen furs and enslaved captives. Using guerrilla tactics, Glass and Takoda sabotage the operation, leading to a brutal nighttime raid where Glass finally confronts Vanek in a savage knife fight on a frozen river.

Just as Glass gains the upper hand, a sudden avalanche buries them both. Glass barely escapes, but Vanekβs fate is left ambiguousβuntil the final scene reveals his frozen hand twitching beneath the snow. The film ends with Glass riding west, hinting at a final confrontation in a potential third film. Meanwhile, a post-credits scene teases a mysterious French fur company expanding into the territory, setting up a larger conflict.
