“The Crow” (1994)
“The Crow” (1994) is a dark, atmospheric action-fantasy film directed by Alex Proyas, based on the 1989 comic book series by James O’Barr. It has become a cult classic, known for its gothic visual style and tragic production history, including the accidental death of its lead actor Brandon Lee, who was fatally injured during filming.
The film follows Eric Draven (played by Brandon Lee), a musician who, along with his fiancée, is murdered by a gang of criminals on Devil’s Night (the night before Halloween). One year after his death, Eric is resurrected by a mystical crow to seek vengeance on the people responsible for their deaths. As a supernatural anti-hero, Eric systematically hunts down the gang, using his newfound powers of invulnerability and heightened senses to exact justice.
