Titanic (1997) is an epic romance and disaster film directed by James Cameron. This is one of the highest-grossing films of all time and won many awards, including 11 Oscars, becoming a turning point in cinema history.
The story is set on the ill-fated maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic, which sank in 1912 after colliding with an iceberg. The film mainly revolves around two characters:
Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a penniless artist, wins a third-class ticket on the Titanic.
Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet), a young woman from a wealthy family, is forced into an arranged marriage with the wealthy but controlling Cal Hockley (Billy Zane).
When Jack and Rose meet on the train, they develop a passionate romance that transcends their social classes. The film intertwines their love story with the historical events of the Titanic’s voyage, culminating in its tragic sinking.
