π Plot Summary

The Santa Clause (1994) is a heartwarming and humorous holiday classic that reimagines what it means to become Santa Clausβquite literally. The story centers on Scott Calvin, a divorced dad and toy company executive, who is unexpectedly thrust into the role of Santa after accidentally causing the previous St. Nick to fall off his roof on Christmas Eve.
To Scottβs disbelief, by putting on the red suit, he activates βThe Santa Clauseββa magical contract that legally binds him to become the new Father Christmas. As Scott begins to physically transform (white beard, growing belly, and a sudden craving for milk and cookies), he struggles to convince his skeptical ex-wife, her psychiatrist husband, and the rest of the world that he is, in fact, Santa.
Meanwhile, his son Charlie wholeheartedly believes in the magic, creating a strong father-son bond at the heart of this tale. As the next Christmas approaches, Scott must fully embrace his new identity, learning the true meaning of the seasonβand of selfless joy.
