“Reign of Fire” (2002) is a post-apocalyptic science fiction film directed by Rob Bowman. The film stars Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey, and Isla Fisher, set in a future where the world is ravaged by dragons.
The story is set in a dystopian future, approximately 20 years after a dragon awakens from its slumber and begins decimating humanity. Quinn Abercromby (Christian Bale), a survivor living in a fortified community in London, narrates his childhood experience when his mother was killed by a dragon during a construction project. The film follows Quinn and his community as they attempt to survive in a world where dragons dominate. Their situation takes a turn when Van Zan (Matthew McConaughey), a rugged dragon hunter, arrives with a plan to fight back against the fire-breathing beasts.
