Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) is the second film in the Resident Evil movie series, directed by Alexander Witt and based on the popular survival horror video game franchise by Capcom. The film follows Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) as she escapes from the underground laboratory of the Umbrella Corporation, only to find that Raccoon City has been overrun by zombies due to the release of the T-virus.
The plot focuses on Alice teaming up with survivors, including Jill Valentine (played by Sienna Guillory), a former S.T.A.R.S. officer, and Carlos Oliveira (played by Oded Fehr), a mercenary. Together, they fight to survive the zombie-infested city while facing off against new and deadlier threats, such as the bioengineered creature Nemesis, a hulking monster sent by Umbrella to eliminate all remaining survivors.
As Alice uncovers more about the sinister Umbrella Corporation, she also discovers her own growing superhuman abilities, a result of experiments conducted on her in the previous film. The survivors must find a way out of the city before it is completely destroyed by Umbrella’s planned nuclear strike to cover up the outbreak.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse is notable for its fast-paced action, over-the-top zombie fights, and the introduction of iconic characters like Jill Valentine and Nemesis from the video game series. Though it received mixed reviews, the film remains a favorite among fans for its intense action sequences and faithful nods to the video games.
