Hard Target 2

Hard Target 2 is a high-octane action thriller and a standalone sequel to the 1993 Jean-Claude Van Damme film Hard Target. Directed by Roel Reiné and starring martial arts action star Scott Adkins, the film brings brutal hand-to-hand combat, jungle survival, and a deadly game of human hunting to the forefront in a new Southeast Asian setting.

Adkins plays Wes “The Jailor” Baylor, a former mixed martial arts champion haunted by a tragic accident in the ring. Lured to Thailand by the promise of a high-paying fight, Baylor quickly realizes he’s been tricked into becoming the target of a deadly hunt organized by wealthy thrill-seekers led by the sinister Aldrich (Robert Knepper).

Dropped into the remote jungles of Burma with a head start, Wes must rely on his instincts, combat skills, and sheer determination to survive the deadly pursuit. Along the way, he encounters allies and enemies, including Sofia (Rhona Mitra), a mysterious woman with her own motives.

With intense fight choreography, scenic exotic locations, and a classic man-vs.-hunter premise, Hard Target 2 delivers straightforward, old-school action with modern polish. While it doesn’t reinvent the genre, it caters to fans of martial arts films and pays homage to its ’90s roots with gritty energy and relentless pacing.
