Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is a sequel to the original Home Alone and was released in 1992. Directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes, the film stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister.
In this episode, Kevin is separated from his family while traveling to Florida for Christmas. Instead of boarding the correct flight, he accidentally ended up in New York City. There, he enjoys the city’s festive atmosphere, staying at a luxury hotel using his father’s credit card.
However, he soon encounters the same thieves as in the first film, Harry and Marv, who have escaped from prison and are planning to rob a toy store. Kevin, once again, uses his wits and a series of complex traps to defend himself and stop their plans.
