The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) is an adventure drama film directed by Kevin Reynolds, based on the classic novel of the same name by Alexandre Dumas. The film stars Jim Caviezel as Edmond Dantès, Guy Pearce as Fernand Mondego, and Richard Harris as Abbé Faria.
The story follows Edmond Dantès, a young sailor who is falsely accused of treason by his jealous rival, Fernand Mondego, and imprisoned in the Château d’If.
