Universal Soldier (1992) is a science fiction action film directed by Roland Emmerich and stars Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. The movie is centered around a secret government program that turns deceased soldiers into nearly unstoppable killing machines known as “UniSols”. The film combines elements of military action, science fiction, and intense martial arts combat.
The story begins in Vietnam, where Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren) are soldiers serving during the war. After Scott goes insane, killing civilians and fellow soldiers, Deveraux tries to stop him, and they both end up killing each other.

Decades later, both men are revived as part of the Universal Soldier program, which reanimates dead soldiers, erases their memories, and enhances their physical abilities to create perfect warriors. They are deployed in modern-day missions, but during a mission, Deveraux starts regaining his memories of his past life, including the horrors of his final moments with Scott.
Deveraux goes on the run with a journalist named Veronica Roberts (Ally Walker), trying to uncover the truth about the UniSol program while being hunted by Scott, who has also regained his memories and is still psychotic.
