There, he is introduced to the Avatar Program, which allows human operators to remotely control bioengineered bodies (avatars) of the native Na’vi people to gather information about the planet’s ecology.

As Jake becomes more immersed in the Na’vi culture, he forms a deep bond with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), a fierce and spiritual Na’vi warrior. However, the peaceful existence of the Na’vi is under threat from a corporation, led by Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), who is intent on exploiting Pandora’s valuable resources. The performances, particularly that of Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, were lauded for their depth and emotion, despite the use of motion capture and CGI. Avatar also sparked debates about its environmental themes and the relationship between indigenous cultures and industrial exploitation, becoming both a commercial and cultural phenomenon. The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards, winning three, including Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects.
