The trailer for Moana 2: A New Ocean Adventure (2025) opens with a sweeping shot of the boundless ocean, calm and serene. Moana’s voice begins softly, recounting her first journey that united her people with the sea. “The ocean called me once before… but now, it calls again.” As she speaks, we see Motunui, peaceful and flourishing under her leadership. However, the tranquil scenery is quickly replaced by stormy seas and ominous dark clouds gathering on the horizon.
Cut to Moana, now older and wiser, sensing that something is terribly wrong. She’s once again summoned by the ocean, this time to a mysterious land beyond the horizon where an ancient power has begun to rise. A vision of Te Fiti flashes before her eyes, and we see the goddess warning Moana that the balance between the land and sea is in jeopardy. “Only you can restore it,” Te Fiti’s voice echoes, as Moana’s expression hardens with resolve.
As the trailer progresses, Moana sets sail on a grander and more perilous adventure. This time, she’s not alone. Maui, the boisterous demigod, returns with his shape-shifting powers, offering both comic relief and powerful aid. “You didn’t think I’d let you have all the fun, did you?” he quips with a grin.
The trailer introduces new characters, including Akaia, a fierce warrior from a distant island, and Tama, a mysterious guardian of the deep sea, whose loyalties are unclear. Moana must unite these new allies to battle against a dangerous force that threatens to consume both the ocean and the lands.
The music builds as the crew faces monstrous creatures, furious storms, and new magical realms beneath the ocean’s surface. The final shot shows Moana standing firm as a colossal tidal wave rises before her, saying, “This is our fight now.”
