Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) is the explosive sequel to Jurassic World (2015) and the fifth installment in the iconic Jurassic Park franchise. Directed by J.A. Bayona, the film continues the high-stakes dinosaur action and adventure that fans have come to expect, while also adding layers of moral complexity and character development that elevate the story.
This chapter takes a darker, more thrilling turn, focusing on the ethical dilemma surrounding the existence of genetically engineered dinosaurs and their place in the modern world. While the film may not have the same groundbreaking impact as Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park, it successfully combines blockbuster spectacle with a thought-provoking narrative about the consequences of humanity’s obsession with playing God.
The film was being planned as early as 2014, part of a future Jurassic World trilogy. Filming began in Canada in February 2020 and moved to other locations in England the following month. In March 2020, production was put on hiatus as a safety precaution due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Production resumed in July 2020, and concluded four months later in November, with filming locations that included England’s Pinewood Studios and the country of Malta. Jurassic World: Dominion is scheduled for theatrical release on June 10, 2022, by Universal Pictures.
