Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006) is a dark, atmospheric film based on the 1985 novel by Patrick Süskind. Set in 18th century France, the film follows the life of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, an orphan with an extraordinary sense of smell. Obsessed with the scent of beauty, Grenouille becomes an apprentice perfumer, but his obsession leads him to murder young women in his quest to create the perfect perfume.
