Plot Summary

Set in the radioactive wastelands of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. follows a group of hardened survivors, mercenaries, and rogue scientists venturing deep into the Zone, a mysterious, reality-warping landscape teeming with deadly anomalies, mutants, and unknown horrors.

Artyom Sidorov (Cillian Murphy), a former soldier turned Stalker, is hired to locate the legendary Heart of the Zone, an artifact rumored to grant any wish. With him is Katya Ivanova (Anya Taylor-Joy), a researcher obsessed with understanding the Zone’s unnatural forces. As they navigate ruined cities, abandoned labs, and nightmarish mutant nests, they soon realize they’re not alone—a ruthless military faction led by Major Petrenko (Josh Brolin) will do anything to control the Zone’s secrets.

But the deeper they go, the stranger things become. Time bends, shadows move on their own, and whispers echo through the ruins. Guided by a mysterious figure known as The Professor (Mads Mikkelsen), Artyom and his team must face the horrors of the Zone, uncover its dark origins, and survive an enemy they can’t even comprehend—the Faceless Stalker (Bill Skarsgård), a being that seems to exist outside of time itself.

As the final confrontation unfolds at the heart of the Zone, the truth behind its power is revealed. But will they make it out alive? Or will they become just another legend of the Zone?
