Land of Bad (2024) is an action-packed military thriller starring Liam Hemsworth, Russell Crowe, Luke Hemsworth, Ricky Whittle, and Milo Ventimiglia. The film follows Air Force Sergeant Kinney (Liam Hemsworth), a rookie soldier caught in an ambush during a rescue mission in the Philippines. As he fights to survive behind enemy lines, he relies on drone operator Captain Eddie Grimm (Russell Crowe) to guide him to safety.

The movie excels in delivering intense, well-choreographed action sequences. Eubank’s direction keeps the pacing tight, with gripping firefights, brutal close combat, and a strong sense of tension. The jungle setting adds a survivalist element, making Kinney’s struggle feel more visceral and immediate.

Russell Crowe steals the show as Captain Grimm, bringing charisma and humor to the role, even though he spends most of the film behind a screen. Liam Hemsworth delivers a solid performance, though his character follows a predictable “rookie-becomes-a-hero” arc. Supporting performances from Luke Hemsworth and Milo Ventimiglia add depth but feel underutilized.

While the film’s action is engaging, its story lacks originality, borrowing heavily from classics like Behind Enemy Lines. Some moments of humor feel forced, and the antagonist is inconsistently portrayed. However, the thrilling final act makes it an entertaining watch for action fans.
