The Shallows (2016)

The Shallows (2016) is a survival thriller film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, starring Blake Lively in a gripping, minimalist story about one woman’s fight for survival against a great white shark.
The movie follows Nancy Adams, a young woman mourning her mother’s recent death, who travels to a secluded beach in Mexico to surf. While surfing, she is attacked by a massive great white shark and becomes stranded on a small rock outcropping about 200 yards from the shore. With limited resources and a badly injured leg, Nancy must use her wits and willpower to outsmart the shark and survive the ordeal before the tide rises, threatening to drown her or leave her vulnerable to another attack.
