Plot Summary

Years after escaping the horrors of war, Agu (Abraham Attah) has struggled to rebuild his life. Now living in a post-war African nation, he seeks redemption, working with a humanitarian organization dedicated to rehabilitating former child soldiers. But peace is fragile, and the ghosts of his past still haunt him.

When a new civil war erupts, Agu is forced back into the fight, but this time, the war is different. A ruthless rebel leader, Commander Malik (John Boyega), rises to power, using brainwashed child soldiers to overthrow the government. As violence spreads, Agu must decide: will he fight to stop the war, or be consumed by it once again?

With the country on the brink of collapse, Agu joins forces with Dr. Amina Keita (Lupita Nyong’o), a fearless humanitarian trying to save the children caught in the conflict. But as the lines between hero and monster blur, Agu realizes that the war he thought he escaped never truly ended.

Can he break the cycle of violence, or will he become the very thing he once feared?
