Years have passed since John Carterβs legendary battle to unite the fractured cities of Mars. Now, an ominous force stirs beneath the surface β a dark, ancient power known only to the Firstborn, the original Martian race exiled to the forgotten city of Omean, hidden in the depths of the dying sea.
When Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins) is abducted and presumed dead, Carter must descend into the very heart of Mars, braving new creatures, navigating treacherous alliances, and unlocking secrets that predate even Barsoomβs history. Alongside him is the loyal Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and a mysterious guide (Rebecca Ferguson), whose loyalties remain unknown.
But as Carter journeys deeper into Marsβ lost past, he discovers that the gods he once dismissed as myth are very real β and they want war.
