Jurassic Park (1993) is a groundbreaking science fiction adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the 1990 novel by Michael Crichton. The film is set in a theme park featuring cloned dinosaurs, and it became a cultural phenomenon for its revolutionary use of CGI and animatronics to bring the dinosaurs to life. Hammond also brings his two young grandchildren, Lex (Ariana Richards) and Tim Murphy (Joseph Mazzello), to the island.
Although the scientists are initially amazed by the sight of living dinosaurs, Malcolm warns that the park’s genetic manipulation and Hammond’s belief that he can control nature are dangerous. As Malcolm famously puts it, “Life finds a way.”
During the tour, the park’s computer system is sabotaged by the greedy programmer Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight), who shuts down key security systems to steal dinosaur embryos for a rival company. This leads to the park’s power going out, disabling the electric fences that keep the dinosaurs contained. As a result, the dinosaurs break free, including the deadly Tyrannosaurus rex and the highly intelligent Velociraptors.
With the park descending into chaos, the visitors must survive the unleashed dinosaurs and escape the island. Dr. Grant, along with Lex and Tim, must navigate the dangerous terrain, while Sattler and Malcolm work to restore the park’s systems and ensure everyone’s safety. In the end, after numerous terrifying encounters, they manage to escape just as the park collapses into ruin.
