Brotherhood of the Wolf (Le Pacte des Loups) is a French historical action-horror film released in 2001, directed by Christophe Gans. The film is loosely inspired by the true events of the Beast of Gévaudan, a series of killings that occurred in France during the 18th century.
Set in the year 1764, the film follows Grégoire de Fronsac (played by Samuel Le Bihan), a nobleman and naturalist, who is sent to investigate a series of mysterious and brutal murders in the region of Gévaudan. Accompanied by his friend Mani (played by Mark Dacascos), a skilled warrior from the Iroquois tribe, Fronsac seeks to uncover the truth behind the terrifying creature that is rumored to be responsible for the deaths. As they delve deeper, they encounter a web of political intrigue, dark secrets, and the supernatural.
