The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) is the tenth film in the James Bond series, produced by Eon Productions. It stars Roger Moore as James Bond, and is directed by Lewis Gilbert. The film is widely regarded as one of the best entries in the Bond franchise and is notable for its balance of action, humor, and classic Bond elements.

In the film, British and Soviet ballistic missile submarines mysteriously vanish, prompting both MI6 and the KGB to investigate. James Bond (Roger Moore) teams up with Major Anya Amasova (played by Barbara Bach), a Soviet KGB agent, to track down Karl Stromberg (played by Curd Jürgens), a megalomaniac shipping tycoon with a plan to trigger a global nuclear war. Stromberg’s goal is to create a new underwater society, where he believes life would flourish after the destruction of the surface world.

Along the way, Bond and Amasova face off against Jaws (Richard Kiel), a giant assassin with metal teeth, who became one of the most iconic Bond villains. The film’s action culminates in a large-scale battle aboard Stromberg’s lair, an underwater base called Atlantis.
