Firefly (2002–2003) is a cult classic science fiction television series created by Joss Whedon. Set in the year 2517, the show blends elements of space adventure and westerns, following the crew of the spaceship Serenity as they navigate life on the fringes of a dystopian interstellar society. The story takes place after a universal civil war in which the central government, called the Alliance, has taken control of many planets, leaving the outer worlds lawless and struggling to survive.
