The Crow (1994)

The Crow (1994) is a dark fantasy action film directed by Alex Proyas, based on James O’Barr’s comic book of the same name. The movie stars Brandon Lee in his final film role, as Eric Draven, a rock musician who is murdered alongside his fiancée on Devil’s Night by a gang of thugs. A year later, Draven is resurrected by a supernatural crow and returns to exact vengeance on those who wronged him.
The film became iconic for its gothic visual style, its themes of love, revenge, and redemption, and its tragic backstory—Brandon Lee died in an on-set accident during filming, adding a haunting layer to the film’s already dark tone.
The Crow is praised for its atmospheric cinematography, its unique blend of supernatural elements and gritty urban crime, and its soundtrack, which features bands like The Cure and Nine Inch Nails. It has since garnered a strong cult following and remains a key film in 1990s alternative cinema.
